Mrs. Mary Eliza Sims, 92, of Louisa, departed this life on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Countryside II Nursing Home in Madison, Va. She was born September 18, 1914 to the late Tom and Alice Sims. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Benny Easton; a daughter, Susie Easton; two grandchildren, Frances Barbour and Tracey Easton; a sister, Elmira Gentry and a brother Tom Henry Sims. She was a faithful member of Bright Hope Baptist Church and attended until illness prevented her from doing so. Mrs. Sims retired from the University of Virginia Medical Center after 30 years of service. She is survived by one son, Charles Easton and his wife, Anita, of District Heights, MD; one daughter, Mary E. Barbour, of Charlottesville, Va; 7 grandchildren, Rev. Carl, Cecil, Gladys, Richard, Pauline, Paul and Carlotta Barbour; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Alberta Shelton and her husband, Lewis Shelton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks goes out to the staff of CountrySide II Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Bright Hope Baptist Church Louisa, Va. Interment will be in the Sims Family Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Charles H Sims, Sr. as Eulogist.
