Mary Irene Collins-Kilby affectionately known as Irene was born on May 20, 1947 in Washington, DC to the late Walter A. Collins, Sr. and Laura B. Poindexter Collins. Mary passed at the age of 75 on July 27, 2022 at her residence in Louisa, Virginia. She was educated through Washington, DC public schools and also had a bookkeeping as well as legal secretary background.

Throughout her adult life, Mary worked for General Heating and FDIC. Mary loved to cook, bake, sing, dance, read, entertain and watch television. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and often gave GOD glory. Even though she took ill around 2010, she still had the determination to thrive. Our loved one was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, niece, sister, sister in law, aunt, cousin and friend who will be sorely missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son, her husband Tyrone "Ronny" Kilby, her sister Dorothy Carter, her older brothers Henry Milton Roberts, Jr. and John L. Roberts, aunts Elizabeth Lee, Inez Perkins, Beatrice Poindexter, Susie Quarles and Mary Hughes, her uncles Leo, Alex and Joseph Poindexter, a brother in law Otis M. Carter, Sr., a sister in law Judith A. Roberts, six nephews, and four nieces.

Mary leaves to mourn her passing her brother Walter A. Collins, Jr. (Barbara), a sister in law Elizabeth Quarles as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
D. D. Watson, Louisa, is helping to make Mary's passing a peaceful one for her family and friends.
