Mary Elizabeth Barbour, age 83, of Charlottesville Virginia, entered eternal rest on August 18, 2017, at the Hospice of the Piedmont of the University of Virginia Medical Center of Charlottesville Virginia. She was born on December 14, 1933 in Hinton West Virginia.
She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Easton and Mary Sims. Mary was preceded in death by (brother), Charles Easton (Son), Francis Barbour (Daughter) and Pauline Barbour.
She attended the Blue Ridge Pace Program, however some of her greatest joys were shopping, traveling, watching television, and spending time with family. Mary loved going to church and was faithful and active in church as long as her health would allow her. She joined the church at an early age with the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Louisa, Virginia under the pastorate of Rev. Sherman Thomas.
We will miss the kindness, laughter and infectious smile and words of wisdom.
In additional to her mother (deceased ) Mary Sims, she is survived by her (deceased ) brother Charles Easton (wife) Anita Easton, (deceased) son Francis Barbour, Son Carl Barbour (wife) Gale Barbour, Cecil Barbour (wife) Betty Barbour, Gladys Barbour, Richard Barbour (wife) Dorothy Barbour Paul Barbour, (Deceased) daughter Pauline Barbour, Daughter Carlotta Barbour.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Anthony Barbour, Cecilia Barbour Smith, Richard Barbour Jr, Sophia Barbour, Malcolm Barbour, Jamaal Barbour, Raheem Barbour, Ashley Brown, Patrice Barbour Johnson, Paul Barbour, Eric Barbour, Olivia Barbour; Great Grandchildren: Alexa Johnson, Autumn Johnson, Ava Johnson, Arya Johnson Makyla Barbour Samyial Barbour, Zahara Barbour, and host of great nieces and nephews.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.
On Thursday, Auguat 24, 2017, Mrs. Barbour's remains will rest in the church for viewing from 11:00 AM until her celebration of life at 1:00 PM, Bright Hope Baptist Church, 9833 Poindexter Road Louisa, VA 23093, with Reverend Sherman Thomas officiating. The committal and benediction will be held in The Sims Family Memorial Cemetery.
