The Lord called Marvin Armstrong Shelton to glory on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his home. Marvin is a native of Kents Sore, VA. He was born August 2, 1938 to Lewis Shelton, Sr. and the late Alice Johnson Shelton of Kents Store. His wife, Bessie Harris Shelton, of Goochland, preceded him in death.

Marvin joined the Galilee Baptist Church of Louisa at an early age. He was an active member until his death. Marvin graduated from S.C. Abrams High School in Fluvanna. He received his brick-laying degree from Virginia State College in Petersburg. Later, he joined the Army.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Lewis Shelton, Sr. (Alberta) of Kents Store; two sons, Mark of Louisa and William of Charlottesville; one daughter, Juanita of Kents Store; five brothers, Lewis Jr. of Louisa, James (Deloris) of Goochland and Leroy (Virgie), Roger (Brenda) and Paul (Lola) all of Kents Store; two sisters, Mattie Kenan of Washington, D.C. and Gertrude Bishop (Paul) of Louisa; five brothers-in-law, Calvin Athy (Barbara Ann), Lewis Harris (Gail), Clarence Harris, Jr., John Harris and Russell Dandridge; two sisters-in-law, Stella Daniels (James) and Edith Brice; one aunt, Dorothy Shelton; two grandchildren, Daniesha "Bootsie" Shelton and Jayvin "J-Man" White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , friends. and a devoted friend of the family, George White.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Galilee Baptist Church, 3598 Three Notch Road, Ferncliff, VA with the Reverend Otis R. Spellman, officiating. Remains can be viewed on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 10 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
