Marvin Eugene Nelson 70, the 5th child born on October 16, 1948 to the late William Shirley Nelson, Sr., and Clara Jackson Nelson entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at his home in Louisa County. He was preceded in death by two brothers Curtis and Shirley Nelson.

At a young age Marvin accepted the Lord as his savior and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He later by Christian experience joined Mt. Hope Baptist Church. He was a member of the male chorus and participated in numerous activities.

He was educated and graduated from A.G Richardson High School in Louisa County and went into the work force thereafter. Through the years Marvin was employed many places until his health failed.

Marvin or "Head" as his family affectionately referred to him. He was a joy to be around. He was always cracking corny jokes so much that he earned the nickname "Nut" from his daughters. He loved people especially his family. Driving was his favorite pass time. If you said the word, he was always ready for a road trip. He also loved food and would try anything earning another nickname "starving Marvin". Of all the loving names he was called "Papa" was his favorite.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Sandy King Waller and Claressa Nae King. His devoted grandkids Wesley Smith Jr ( Jesiel ), Adrieona and Sierra Taylor, RaQuan Waller and Ryan King, 5 great grand kids, his 4 sisters Florine Boddie, Ernestine Johnson (Devoted Ronald),  Pearl Thomas (James), Darlene Bolden, 3 brothers John Nelson (Marie), Lindsey Nelson (Myra), Tony Nelson (Mona), Two Aunts Marion Robinson of Philadelphia and Doris Jackson of Richmond. Devoted friends Sarah Jane, Linda Houchens, Junnie Baskerville, Aubrey "Bubba "  Payne and " BillyBird " Antwan Johnson,one sister in law Ellen Nelson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
