The lovely Mabel (Essie) Jones was born on April 18, 1964, to the late Dorothy Jones and Edward Lee. She departed this life on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Essie received her education from Louisa County Public Schools. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board for several years. In her free time, Essie enjoyed being with family, especially her children: Bobby Jones, Barbara Jones, her youngest son, Brian (deceased), and her grandchildren.

Essie leaves to cherish her love and legacy; her son, daughter, and grandchildren, along with a devoted and loving brother, Antonio Johnson, her Uncle James (Mary) Johnson, Aunt Loretta (Marvin) Jackson, and a host of family and dear friends.

Essie is welcomed in heaven with a warm hug by her son, parents, her loving siblings: Annette Perkins, Curtis, Teeny, and Jacqueline Johnson (sister-in-law).
