Lloyd Hamilton Fortune, 85, departed this earthly life on December 15, 2022 at the University of Virginia Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on July 15, 1937 to the late Annie Mae Fortune. Lloyd known by some as "teeny man" or "pops" will be truly missed.

Lloyd loved being outdoors. You could find him working in his garden earlier in life when his health allowed or planting flowers and trees in his yard and fishing for outdoor activities. Besides these times he loved to be with family and listen to his music that no one was allowed to change or riding around the yard on his red lawnmower. While Lloyd was a small man in stature, when he spoke we as a family moved, he had a heart of gold and the many memories that these 85 years have allowed will continue to be cherished by all of his family and friends.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his late parents and beloved grand-daughter Dellasha Cheri Fortune. He was a member of the Foster Creek Baptist Church earlier in life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Della Inez Fortune; four children, Doris Johnson (Freddie), Philip Fortune (Rita), Floyd Fortune (Sylvia), all of Louisa County; and Arthur Fortune (Jennifer) of Fluvanna County. Lloyd is also survived by grandchildren, Tamera Armstrong (Brian), Shannon Fowler (Burton), Lashonda Williams (Andrew), Sharonda Fortune, Bradley Johnson, Tomeka Burruss, Arthur Fortune Jr, Sheena Burruss, and Kanisha Burruss; and a host of great grandchildren, two sisters-n-law, Lucy Minor (George) and Emily Johnson (Harvey) of Louisa, VA along with a dedicated niece, Leslie Darlene Christmas.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at The Sun Chapel at D.D. Watson Louisa 117 West Street Louisa, VA 23093. Interment will follow in The Ragland /Henson Family Cemetery.
