God decided He needed our beloved Lillie Mae Jasper on February 15, 2021. He allowed us to share 86 beautiful and memorable years with her. She now has her wings to be the angel we all knew her to be. She was and will always be the glue that keeps her family together.
Lillie Mae had a career with Conagra Frozen Foods for 28 years, retiring on July 31, 1996. After her retirement, she spent her days enjoying every moment with her family and friends. Lillie Mae was the foundation of her family. There wasn't a day that she didn't talk to her children and grandchildren. She was a social butterfly, always in attendance at family functions being the life of the party. She truly enjoyed life to its fullest and showed us all how to appreciate the little things. She was also strong in her faith being a member of First Baptist Church of Louisa, VA having served as an Usher and sang in the Choir.
Lillie Mae is preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Lindsay Jasper of 58 years; her mother, Dorthea Jasper; her father, Percy Mills and great granddaughter, Joy Jasper.
Behind she leaves to carry on her angelic and giving spirit and keep her memory alive, her beautiful children, 6 sons, James (Vernell), Larry, David, Thomas (Ruby) and Calvin Jasper, all of Louisa, VA, and Lindsay Jasper Jr, of Lynchburg, VA; 3 daughters, Shirley, Gerline Jasper of Louisa, VA and Barbara Jasper of Buckingham, VA.
She was the oldest of 12 siblings, 5 sisters, 6 brothers, 26 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 24 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, left to carry on precious memories is her best friend of many years, Mrs. Ceola Wright.
In its entirety, the family would like to acknowledge her son, Thomas, for being her lifetime caregiver, always putting her first and making sure she had what she needed. Additionally, her granddaughter, Missy feels extremely blessed to have been able to assist Thomas in taking care of her the last 2 years. Those special and precious moments will forever be held close to her heart. The family thanks and love you both for your undeniable passion, patience, and care for her.
The family also wants to send a special thank you to The Fresenius Kidney Care Center of Louisa, VA and Sentara Spring Creek Family Medicine for their professionalism and compassion when she was in their care.
Lastly, the family would like to thank everyone else for your gratitude, generosity, concern, and care during this difficult time. We all sincerely appreciate each of you greatly as we celebrate the amazing life of our mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Lillie Mae Jasper.
We all miss her dearly and will love her forever. She will eternally be in our hearts and day to day lives with all the great lessons we learned from her. She will never be forgotten, as we all hold a piece of her inside us.
