Lewis Edward Mills Jr., 74, of Troy, Virginia departed this life on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his home. He was born in Charlottesville, VA. February 19, 1947, to Bessie Jefferson Mills and Lewis Mills Sr..

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Washington Mills; father, Lewis Mills Sr.; son, Marcus Mills; brothers, Carlton Washington and Arthur Mills; sisters, Evelyn Washington and Leona Garland. Lewis attended Fluvanna County Schools, and he was employed by Whitehurst Paving Company for over 20 years and SL Williamson Company for 10 years. He accepted Christ at an early age.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Lewis E. Mills III (Tina) of North Gardens, VA; two daughters, Kizzy Rose of Charlottesville, VA and Gwendolyn Mills of Troy, VA; five sisters, Elnora Brown of Troy, VA, Margaret Carter of Louisa, VA, Linda Grooms of Louisa, VA, Deborah Mills of Charlottesville, VA,  Sharon Holland (Kirk) of Louisa, VA; and Minister Joyce Groomes of Louisa, VA, three brother, Charles Washington (Dorothy) of Charlottesville, VA; Glenn Mills of Troy, VA ; Kelvin Mills ( Kim) of Troy, VA, and 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren…. He also leaves behind a large extended family which includes nieces, nephews, cousins, great- nieces and nephews, and his in-laws.

A graveside service at be held at 2 :00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Evergreen Bibleway Church, 1576 Evergreen Rd. Louisa, VA 23093. Interment will immediately follow.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday , April 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in The Sun Chapel at D. D. Watson, Louisa.
