Leslie Shelton was born to the late Eugene Shelton, Sr. and Alice Mae Hunter Shelton on August 13, 1938 in Fredericks Hall, Virginia.

On October 1, 2023 while a patient at the Louisa Health and Rehabilitation Center Leslie slipped from time and entered into eternity.

Leslie attended public schools in Louisa.  Leslie was a member of the United States Army and was employed at VEPCO, Walton and Wood Lumber Company, and Woolfolk Lumber Company for sixteen years.  Leslie retired from Knighton Lumber Company as a truck driver.   He enjoyed gathering loved ones and friends together to laugh, talk, fellowship, and watch football.  He was a dedicated Commanders (Redskins) fan.  Leslie enjoyed fishing and watching Family Feud (no one was allowed to talk during the broadcast).

Leslie was joined in holy matrimony to Mary Irene Green on March 26, 1966 and to this union ten children were born. Early in life, under the tutelage of his parents, Leslie professed a belief in Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized and joined with the membership at the Rising Sun Baptist Church.  Leslie was an avid Sunday School attendee during his young adult life.

In addition to his parents, Leslie was predeceased by two daughters:  Regina and Tiffany; and his siblings:  Elaine Barney, Eugene, Jr., Curtis, Samuel, Otis, Albert, Morris, Raymond, and William.

He leaves to cherish his love and memory his wife: Mary Irene Green Shelton; his children:  Valerie, Debra, Gabriel (Lisa), Shannon, Gerard, Victoria, Renata, and Marcus; thirty-four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law:  Grace Taylor Shelton; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
