Leslie Rayfield Johnson Sr., one of six children born to the late Collie and Louise Cook Johnson entered into eternal life Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

He was born October 29, 1929 in Louisa, Virginia.
At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined the New Anna Baptist Church. He was educated in the Louisa County Public School System.

Leslie was joined in holy matrimony Shirley Coles on August 20, 1955. To this union five children were born.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
His employment consisted of a few years of sawmilling and 34 years at the Henrico County Utility Department.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Richard and Chancell (his wife Joyce).

Leslie leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Shirley C. Johnson; four daughters, Ethel Powell (Harry) of Trevilians, VA, Edith Taylor of Trevilians, VA, Audrey Dandridge (William) of Bumpass, VA, Lesley Horton (Marv) of Bumpass, VA; one son, Leslie Rayfield Johnson Jr., of Mineral, VA; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Heather, Natasha, Jennifer, Donte, Marv Jr., and Camren; 3 great grandchildren, Rohnni-Lynn, Marilee and Samara; one brother, Frank Johnson Sr. of Mineral, VA; one sister, Nannie Bates of Mineral, VA; 5 sisters-in-law, Melvinia Johnson of Washington, DC, Sadie Johnson of Mineral, VA, Marian Harris of Mineral, VA, Joyce Holt and Arlean Anderson of Montpelier, VA; 2 brothers-in-law, Warren Anderson of Montpelier, VA and George Harris of Mineral, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at New Anna Baptist Church 11639 Cross County Road Mineral, Virginia. Burial, with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
