LeRoy Christian Houchens, 74 of Mineral, Virginia, died on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at VCU Health System/MCV Hospital in Richmond, Virginia .
Born Sunday, December 27, 1936 in Louisa, Virginia, Leroy was the son of the late Marie Houchens. Besides his mother, his brothers Elijah, Paul and Salis preceded him in death.
He attended Louisa County Public Schools. He was a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church.
His memories will be cherished by his sister, Mary Houchens of Mineral, VA; three aunts, Dorothy Henson, Bertha Davis Houchens and Alberta Houchens, all of Mineral; one uncle, Eugene Houchens Jr.(Alice) of Mineral,VA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericksburg Hall Road, Mineral,VA.
Interment will be in Houchens Family Cemetery.
