While death is no longer an enemy for a believer in Jesus Christ, it remains difficult for the dying and their loved ones. But thanks be to God that He sent His Only Son to die for our sins and rise again to give believers eternal life in Jesus Christ (John 3:16 ). Mr. Lawrence C. Johnson, transitioned on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at his residence in Kents Store.  The family of Mr. Lawrence C. Johnson has entrusted D. D. Watson Mortician, Inc., Louisa, to provide professional services as they prepare to say their final farewell to their beloved Lawrence.

Lawrence Clives Johnson (Bozo), 79, of Kents Store, VA, born November 7, 1938, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his home.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George Luther Johnson and Ida McGhee Johnson; and brothers, Alex Johnson and Vernon Johnson.

Lawrence joined Foster Creek Baptist Church at an early age and then moved his membership to Galilee Baptist Church Louisa, to attend services with his wife.  He was a member of the Men's Chorus and Men of Promises.  He loved serving the Lord and attending bible study.  During his career, he worked at Harper Motors, Comdial and co-owned a Volkswagon auto repair shop with his brother.  He was a devoted truck driver and the owner of LC Johnson Trucking.  He delivered for Luck Stone, all over Central Virginia, for 48 years until his health declined.  He enjoyed being outside, spending time with family, and watching NASCAR races.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Kathryn Quarles Johnson.  Six daughters: Ann Morris Smith (Matt) of Louisa, VA; Patricia Brooks (Ricky) of Kents Store, VA; Lauren Johnson Maryland, Sabrina Burruss, and Wanda Carter (Johnnie) all of Charlottesville, VA; Michelle Terry of Palmyra, VA.  Seven grandchildren: Lawrence Morris, Ricky Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Martel Henson (Shaniece), Tressie Barrett, Briana Burruss, and Denzel Terry.  Five great-grandchildren: DreShawn Brooks, Ariyanna Brooks, Taniyah Brooks, Gabriele Henson, and Jaevion Johnson.  Two brothers: George Johnson (Lucille) and Percy Bishop (Mary).  Mother-in-law: Flossie Quarles.  Three brother-in-laws: Russell Quarles, Lloyd Quarles (Ann), and Larry Quarles.  Four sister-in-laws: Thelma Jackson, Elsie Scott, Jacqueline Quarles, and Winifred Quarles.  A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  A special thanks to Dr. Mark Pritchard, Cornell 2 Unit staff of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital and Hospice of Piedmont.

Homegoing Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Galilee Baptist Church Louisa, 3598 Three Notch Road, Kents Store, VA with Pastor Elder Ruben Lewis, Jr. officiating.  Final viewing will be at 12:30 p.m. followed by services at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
