Lawrence Elmer Coleman departed this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA at 8:30 PM.
Born in Louisa, VA on October 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Sr. and Eloise Coleman.
He was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., a sister Hazel Horton, a son Charlie Coleman and two daughters, June and Kim Dale Coleman.
Lawrence was a lifelong member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Bumpass, VA. He was educated in the public school system of Louisa County.
Lawrence was employed as a Sawmill engineer. He could guide the course of the trees turning them into beautiful pieces of lumber.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and talking with his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening and caring for his dogs, chickens, geese, and his current Chihuahua "Fred".
He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather and will be remembered by all of his family and many friends.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Johnson Coleman of Mineral, VA; three daughters, Theresa Coleman of Mineral, VA, Whitney Coleman of Fredericks Hall, VA, and Jewel Mason and her husband William of Keswick, VA; three grandchildren, Lawrence Kincaid Coleman, Audré William Mason, and Janelle Crystal Mason. He is also survived by one brother, Clarence Thomas of Louisa, VA;
five sisters-in-iaw, Vernell Nuckols, Clineth Graves, Madeline Mickens, Evonne Johnson, and Vera Johnson; five brothers—in-law, Frank Horton, Morris Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Julian "Carol" Johnson, Raphael Mickens, Ernest Graves, Sr., and a devoted fiend, Chris Woodson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services, conducted by Reverend Barry Carpenter, will be held on July 14, 2010, at lI AM at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Mineral,VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
