Larry Donell Pendleton , age 64, went to be with the Lord on the morning of January 31, 2020, at his residence.  He was born on August 26, 1955, to the late John and Alberta Pendleton.  He is predeceased by his brothers David, John,  and Leroy Pendleton, and a sister, Louise Smith. He is also predeceased by Thomas King, who shared in raising him.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory, a very devoted and loving wife of 20 years, Debra (Debbie) Pendleton; two sons, Larry and Keith Johnson; a special devoted son, Twyman Braxton and daughter, Lolita Reed; and five grandchildren whom he loved.  He also leaves to cherish his memory one special sister/mom, Dorothy King, who raised him from age two, and one brother, Earl L. Pendleton; two special nieces/sisters who loved him dearly, Pamela King-Marbury and Wanda Grischkowsky; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Larry accepted Christ at an early age and joined Foster Creek Baptist Church.  He was an usher, sung in the choir, was an active member in the Sunday school and participated in many Christmas plays at the church.  He attended Louisa County Public Schools where he played many sports including football, basketball, track and field which he championed. After all those years, his track record was recently broken. Larry was full of life and always kept everyone laughing.  He was friendly, kind and knew so many people.

He worked in construction, traveling to Washington, D.C. for many years until he opened his own business, with Debbie by his side, in Centreville, Virginia. They left Northern Virginia to return to Louisa County and he stated, "I will never leave Louisa again."

Viewing will be at the church on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 9:30-11 a.m. service time.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Foster Creek Baptist Church 4028 East Jack Jouett Road Louisa, Virginia 23093 with Rev. Michael Crawley, officiating and Rev. Dr. Earl L. Pendleton, eulogist. Interment will follow in the Pendleton Family Cemetery.
