Kimberly L. Bishop of Fredericksburg, Virginia, went to meet the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at her home. She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on September 12, 1975, the daughter of the late Betty Bishop Sherrill and James Edwin Farrar. Instrumental in Kim's life were her incredible grandparents, the late Rosemond Payne, Elect Lady Earline Bishop and Deacon George Bishop.
Kim was educated in the public schools of Virginia and graduated from Charlottesville High School with the class of 1993. She later received her associate's degree in Applied Science with a specialization in computer applications from Piedmont Community College. Kim was a fast learner and loved to take charge. She held several administrative positions with various companies during her lifetime. Her quick wit, lovable spirit, and bigger than life personality was highlighted by her candid responses and opinions. Those who loved her expected her to communicate exactly what was on her mind as she did not hesitate to speak her truth. When asking her personal questions that she did not want to answer, she would respond, "None of your d… business."
Kim's laugh was infectious, and her face would light up when she was telling a story. Kim also had an insatiable thirst for good food and received a culinary arts certificate from Northern Virginia Community College. She started a catering company known as Kimistry Katering in Northern Virginia because food was her passion. Kim loved trying new recipes and would provide details about her personal touch to each dish she prepared for family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, whom she loved with all her being, Henessy Bishop, Jayden Bishop-Massie and, Kartiae Carter; her step-fathers, Bishop Larry Sherrill and Bryson Swift (Angela); four brothers, Pierre Swift (Alicia); Larry Steven Sherrill, Jr. (Diona); Larry Damon Sherrill; Michael Sherrill (Brandi); a sister, Pandora Sims (Stacy); aunts, Rita Jenoure (Maurice), Brenda Bishop, Marilyn Carter (Bishop Jerry Carter), Joan Bishop, Audrey Brooks (Rudolph), Lillian Holt (Floyd), Mildred Sherrill Smith (Greg), Iva Sherrill Edwards; uncles, Mark Bishop, Gary Bishop (Nora), Phillip Bishop, Roy Sherrill (Leslie) and Anthony Sherrill. In addition, Kim was blessed with many sister and brother-cousins whom she was raised with from birth, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
While our hearts are hurting and our tears are many, there is one thing that we are confident about, Kim had a real relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. She was on the family Sabbath morning calls when she was able and always shared her faith even when she was not feeling well or when the diagnosis was not positive. Kim loved the Lord. She confirmed her salvation with a certainty in her voice that Jesus loved her.
Tomorrow on earth is not promised to anyone, but God gives us eternal life. Rest on Kim until the dead in Christ shall rise! "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
