One of Louisa County's eldest residents, Katie Coleman Thurston Winston quietly departed this life on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at her home. She is survived by her husband Robert W. Winston, Sr., four daughters; Ella Mae Strong, Emma "Jane" Hungerford, Oleathia "Lede" Bullock, Essie Regina Pearson (Deceased), two sons; Robert W. Winston Jr. (Beverly), Baby Boy Winston (Deceased), five grandsons (one deceased), four granddaughters, nine great grandsons, eight great granddaughters (one deceased), one great-great grandson, four sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 12 at the Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel (117 West Street, Louisa, Va. 23093) from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, March 13 from 10:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am at Mt. Gilliam(New Site) Baptist Church (Louisa, Va.) with the Rev. Louis Collins officiating. Interment New Site Baptist Church cemetery.
