Mrs. Julia Morris Holland, 96, of Louisa, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2007 at the Louisa Health Care Center. She was born in Louisa, the daughter of the late James and Mattie Morris. Mrs. Holland was a faithful member of the Zion Travelers Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Holland, and a daughter, Mattie Holland Hicks. She received her education in the public schools of Louisa County. Mrs. Holland was a loving neighbor to many friends in the Bells Crossroads area for most of her life, but in recent years she left that area to reside with her daughters. Loving memories of Mrs. Holland will be cherished by her beloved children; five daughters, Janette Kittrell and Ruth Walker of Montclair, New Jersey, Marjorie Fitzgerald of East Organge, New Jersey, Hossaine Farrar and Blanche Parks of Louisa, Virginia; five sons, Leonard Holland of East Orange, New Jersey, Thomas Holland(Julia), Early Holland(Barbara), Phillip Holland(Frances), and Ronnie Holland all of Louisa, Virginia; former daughter-in-law, Reatha Jackson; 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, July 2, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel, 117 West Street Louisa, Virginia. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, 3662 Roundabout Road Louisa, Virginia 23093 with the Rev. Charles M. Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in the Holland Family Cemetery.
