Joseph Lewis Anderson, 74 of Richmond, Virginia died on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Retreat Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Born Wednesday, June 5, 1940 in Louisa, Virginia, he was the son of the late William B. and Ethel Jackson Anderson.
He was a graduate of Louisa County Public Schools. Joe was employed with the Virginia Department of Transportation .
He was predeceased by brothers, Harold Allen Anderson, John E Anderson, Rev. Moses Anderson, Charles Anderson and William H Anderson and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth LaRue.
Surviving are brothers, Rev. Temple E. Anderson, Sr., and wife Alconia of Mineral, VA; Dennis "Sheriff" Anderson of Mineral, VA and Jacob "Jack" Anderson and wife, Betty of Montpelier; sister, Callie Gripper and husband, Ernest of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; one devoted nephew, Wayne Creasy of Richmond, VA and a number of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Philippi Christian Church, Jefferson Davis Highway Mineral, VA with Rev. Temple E. Anderson, Sr., officiating.
Interment will be in Anderson Family Cemetery, Mineral, VA.
There will be no public viewing.
