John Henry Lightfoot passed away quietly on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Envoy Nursing Facility, Fork Union, VA. He was the son of John and Nettie Lightfoot of Scottsville, VA., and was born on May 6, 1926.
He leaves to morn his loss, brother, James A. Lightfoot of Scottsville, VA, sister, Audrey Lightfoot Smith of Palmyra, VA, Stepson, Oliver (Mae) Gordon, grandson, Ray Gamble, of Brentwood, MD, two nieces, Peggy Smith Godette of NY, NY, and Joan Boyd Gipson of Plainsfield, NJ, nephews, Thomas M Smith and John D Smith of Palmyra, VA, grandnieces and nephews and a host of relatives, friends and former co-workers.
John Henry was a dedicated son with a quiet spirit. He was a patriot who served in the armed services with honors in both the Army and Navy.
Funeral services will be held at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel Louisa, VA at 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2015.
Interment will follow in Lightfoot Memorial Cemetery in Scottsville, VA.
