On Monday, January 24,2022, John Carroll Lee, entered into eternal rest, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 22,1950, to the late Elnora & Russell, Lee, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his brother James Jones and three sisters, Shirley Wynn, Joyce Lee and Gloria Washington.

John joined the Eagle Baptist church at an early age, where he attend until his health failed. He was educated in the Louisa County Public School system and later joined the Job Corp. He worked various jobs throughout Louisa County and surrounding states. John loved spending time with family and friends, but his greatest joy came from his granddaughters. He was a loving and giving person who will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted wife of 39 years Mattie Lee of Louisa,VA; stepson James Grooms(Benita) of Fluvanna, VA; stepdaughter, Tracy Grooms-Key(Brian) of Louisa, VA; Granddaughters, Aaryn Grooms-Key and Christen Grooms; six sisters; Mary Seaberry(James); Irma Christmas(Andrew); Deborah Robinson; Terry and Shelia Lee all of Louisa,Va; Elnora Grooms(Melvin) of Charlottesville,Va; two brothers; Robert Lee(Florence) of Buckingham,VA and Russell Lee,Jr of Louisa,VA; three sister-in-laws; two brother-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all of those who helped while John was ill. We would like to give special recognition to Virginia, Lori and David Ragland, Earl Grooms and the Hospice of the Piedmont staff assigned to his case.
