John Edward Johnson, (Johnny) 67 of Louisa, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 6, 2009 at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1941 in Louisa, County to Bessie Robertson Johnson and the late Thomas Lloyd Johnson. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Ann Johnson.
Johnny was a member of the Foster Creek Baptist Church and was employed by Comdial for 20 years. He later established John E Johnson Hauling for Luck stone, until declining health caused him to retire. Johnny was a graduate of A.G. Richardson High School.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 44 years, Leona Scott Johnson, a son Timothy Arnold Johnson, two grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Johnson all of Louisa, Virginia; a devoted aunt Martha Brice, one god-son Damond Baskfield of Louisa, Virginia; five sisters-in-law, Audrey Perkins, Mary Ann Scott, Elissa G Scott, all of Louisa, Virginia, Pauline S Baskfield of Columbia, Virginia and Kathleen Bell of Powatan, Virginia; two brothers-in law, Ulysses Bell and Edward Pendleton; a devoted cousin, Richard Brice and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation at the church will be held from 12 noon until 2:pm.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Galilee Baptist Church, 3598 Three Notch Road Ferncliff, Virginia 23053 with the Reverend Michael Crawley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
