John Theodore Holland, known as "Baldie", departed life on May 3, 2019 at Monroe Nursing Home, Charlottesville VA. John was born to the late John Broadus and Treatie Holland. He was proceeded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Charles Holland.

At an earlier age he accepted Christ. He attended school in Louisa County. He worked as   a mechanic in both the city and states of Philadelphia PA and Louisa, VA. He retired from the Metro Train Company.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary Holland, 3 sons: Keith Quarles (Louisa), Montez Holland (Philadelphia) and David Holland (Louisa); 3 daughters: Kecia Holland (John King), Nydja Holland and Racquel Holland-Smith (Tyrone) all from Philadelphia and step-daughter Traci Blount (Crewe). John was blessed to have 15 grandchildren: Richard, Ricco, Hank V, Thomas, Basil, Kareema, Kysir, Aniyah, Keith Jr, Oneisha, Daishawn, Arianna, Kaniya, Tiffney and Hayden. 7 great-grandchildren. His family also includes 3 brothers: James Holland (Washington DC), Robert Holland (Sharon) and Clyde Holland from Louisa. 7 sisters: Betty Burruss (Herman), Susie Scott (Alfonza) – Louisa, Sunday Holland, Lisa Washington (Greg) – Richmond), Denise Anderson, Patricia Cooper, Crystal Holland – Louisa.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Galilee Baptist Church 3598 Three Notch Road Kents Store, Virginia 23084 with Rev. Gilbert Bates, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Holland Family Cemetery.
