John Davis Burruss, 79, born in Louisa County, Va on June 7, 1928 to the late John and Lucy Burruss, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Ruxton Health Village. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Geneva Burruss; sister, Cora Andrews; brother, Herman Burruss, Sr.; daughters in law, Joyce Burruss and Selina Faye Burruss; granddaughter, Dawn "DeDe" Burruss, and grandson, Landon Burruss.

He was a member of Foster Creek Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memories seven sons, Roger, John, Richard, and Dennis of Louisa, Va., Hank and his wife Gale, Kenneth and his wife Teresa, and Alton and his wife Angie of Troy, Va; 3 daughters, Betty, Lisa and Michelle of Louisa, Va; brothers, Clarence, Robert, Lloyd and wife Mary; devoted sisters, Marie Christmas, Joyce Christmas and husband Ralph; 23 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brothers-n-law, sisters-n-law and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral Services will be held 1 P.M. on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Foster Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Crawley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the
Henson Family Cemetery.
