John Edward Brown, 96 of Kents Store, Virginia died on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Louisa Health Care Center in Louisa, Virginia.
Born Monday, September 14, 1914 in Cecil County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Frank Lewis Brown and the late Rhonda Earl Brown. He was the husband of the late Mary Timberlake Brown.
He was a graduate of Cecil County High School and worked as a service station attendant before retiring as a University of Virginia Police Officer.
John joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he and his wife Mary were members for many years. John later became a member of County Line Baptist Church where he attended faithfully until his health began to fail. John also served as a member of the Maryland National Guard.
He was predeceased by brother, Mr. William Brown of Charlottesville, VA.
Loving memories of him will be cherished by his sister-in-law, Fannie L. Timberlake of Kents Store, VA, and a devoted nephew, George W. Price and wife Cornelia of Richmond, VA, John is also survived by three additional nephews, nine nieces and a host of great-neces and great-nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walter H. Jones, Sr., officiating.
Interment will be in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, Kents Store, VA.
