His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:23
James William Robinson, 82, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at home in Mineral, Virginia. Willia m was born on October 25, 1942, in Louisa County, to the late Ellis Robinson and Rosabelle Lewis.
William was a loyal and devoted husband who lovingly cared for his wife until her final days—always by her side, even carrying her purse and shoes with pride. Their love was evident to all who knew them, especially during their much-anticipated Friday expeditions to KFC and Walmart.
William enjoyed reading his Bible, spending time with family and friends, and celebrating holidays and birthdays. We never missed celebrating him on his birthday or Father's Day. William will be remembered for his boundless generosity and compassionate spirit. He found true joy in serving others, particularly in his dedication to visiting the sick and offering comfort to those in need. His acts of kindness, big and small, touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on those around him.
As a big brother, he took on the role of a father figure after the passing of their father. He taught his brothers how to work with their hands, like sawing and chopping wood, skills that he passed down with patience and love. William's love for his family was deep and unconditional. But the one he loved most was the Lord. He was a man of faith who read his Bible faithfully, and if you were to walk into his home today, you'd still find it open to the book of Psalms—just as he left it.
William was a sharp dressed man. He took the time to look good every day, regardless of whom he was going to meet. He was known for his sharp style and distinguished suits. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. William was a proud and faithful member of Temple of Deliverance Holy Church of God. He served with devotion and joy.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Robinson; two brothers, Alfred and Richard Robinson; and two sisters, Gracie Talley and Elizabeth Thurston.
William is survived by his stepfather, John Lewis; his stepchildren: Peter Jackson, Brenda Syrkes, Barbara McKenney, Alice Hunter (Walter), Robert Jackson (Myrtle), Jessie Jackson (Shirley), Dwain Jackson (Karen), and Virginia Winn (Sherman); his siblings, Carolyn Coleman (Jerry), Nettie Robinson-Logan (John), Joe Willie Robinson, Ellis Robinson (Edith), Steven Robinson (Linda), Wilbur Robinson (Belinda), and Vernon Robinson (Lisa). William also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He will be missed.
A viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. at Temple of Deliverance HCG, Inc.
