James Edward "Jimmy" Jones, 65, departed this life on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at his home in Fairfax, Virginia surrounded by his family.
He was born February 14, 1944 in Louisa, Virginia to the late Russell Lee, Sr., and Eleanor Jones Lee. He was baptized at an early age and joined the St. John Baptist Church. He graduated from A. G. Richardson High School and later moved to Northern Virginia. He worked for the Hyman Construction Company and the Fairfax County School System where he was a building supervisor. James remained employed there until his death. He was owner and operator of J & J Enterprises in Fairfax, Virginia.

James, lovingly known as Jimmy, is survived by his loving and devoted wife Wanda, his devoted daughter, Lydia Carter and the sparkle of his eyes, his granddaughter, Jazmine Carter. He is also survived by eight sisters, Shirley Wynn(Joseph), Mary Seaberry(James), Irma Christmas(Andrew), Deborah Robinson(Austin), Gloria Washington(Ralph), Terry and Shelia Lee, all of Louisa, Virginia and Elnora Grooms(Melvin) of Charlottesville, Virginia; three brothers Robert Lee(Florence) of Buckingham, Virginia, John Lee(Mattie) and Russell Lee, Jr., both of Louisa, Virginia; one uncle Willie Jones, Jr.(Rose) of Landover, Maryland and one aunt, Julia Winn of Washington, D.C.; his son-like friend, Johnny Thomas and devoted friends, Jess Deskins and Leonard Alexander and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Eagle Baptist Church, 4683 Mt. Airy Road Louisa, Virginia with the Rev. Jeff Beard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
