Jackie Ray Johnson, 76, of Louisa, Virginia died on Friday, January 30, 2026, at his residence in Louisa, Virginia.
Born January 16, 1950 in Louisa, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Franklin Johnson, Sr., and the late Martha Ann Ragland Johnson.
Jackie was a member of the last graduating class of A.G. Richardson High School in 1969 before it became a part of the integration process in Louisa County.
Jackie was a quiet, softspoken and hardworking man who loved sports and filling his plate high. He strived to be a good person, to treat others as he would want to be treated, and to be an honorable man. He was a strong supporter of the Virginia Cavaliers and the Louisa County High School Lions. If he couldn’t attend a sporting event you could find him in front of the television watching basketball, baseball, football and any other sport that was airing.
Jackie was preceded in death his by sisters, Nancy E. Johnson, Ruth E. Fielder, Sherry D. Jackson, Kathy M. Johnson and Cheryl L. Johnson.
Jackie is survived by his brothers, John F. Johnson, Jr and David S. Johnson; and sisters, Mary L. Johnson, Dora G. Coleman, and Sandra Johnson Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
To the Johnson family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.
It is during such times as these that we draw upon our faith, stand upon our scriptures, and rely upon our God. There is no question that in this and through this, God will keep you, comfort you, and sustain you. You and your family are forever in our prayers.
