Ivor Morle Shelton, Sr., was born on the 10th of September, 1934, in Louisa, Virginia. His life was a testament to the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched- they must be felt with the heart." Ivor's love for his family, his community, and his music was a beautiful thing that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

A dedicated family man, Ivor was the beloved husband of Mary Shelton for over 65 years and the cherished father of Ivor Jr. He leaves behind his dear siblings, Fleming D. Shelton, Jr., and Beulah Morris; a devoted nephew, Thomas Brice, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fleming D. Shelton, Sr. and Lillie B. Shelton; two sisters, Nannie N. Easton and Hurma A. Harrison, and two brothers, Golden M Shelton, and Clyde G. Shelton. Ivor's devotion to his family was the cornerstone of his life, a beacon of stability and love that guided all his actions.

Ivor was a dedicated member of the Louisa/Temple Masonic Lodge 113, and he filled the rooms and hearts of his community with the sweet sounds of gospel music as a member of the Gospel Tone, County Line Male Chorus, and Zion Travelers Male Chorus. His dedication to his career was evident in his impressive 46-year tenure at Jim Price Chevrolet. Despite his many achievements, what mattered most to Ivor was his family. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "It is not length of life, but depth of life." The depth of Ivor's life was reflected in the love for his family, his commitment to his work, and his passion for his music.

Family and friends are invited to attend the public viewings on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4-7 pm at D.D. Watson Mortician, Inc. (Louisa), and on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 9:00 am in County Line Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 am in County Line Baptist Church, 4070 Countyline Road Kents Store, Virginia 23084.
