Irish Eloise Johnson, 69, of Mineral, Virginia, peacefully departed this life at her residence surrounded by her family on June 14, 2026.

Irish was born on January 20, 1957, to the late Frank and Hazel Horton of Mineral, Virginia. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, faithful Christian, dedicated nurse, and cherished friend to many. At a young age, she joined Mt. Garland Baptist Church, where her faith remained an important foundation throughout her life.

Irish was preceded in death by her sister, Mable Horton, and her brother, Frank "Tanker" Horton Jr.

Irish graduated from Louisa County High School in 1977. Following graduation, she began working at the Mineral Factory before pursuing her professional career as a Administrative Assistant on the oncology wing.

Irish dedicated her professional career to caring for others as an Administrative Assistant at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Hospital for over 17 years. Her compassion, kindness, and commitment to serving those in need touched countless lives and earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and patients alike.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her devoted husband, James Johnson Jr. her daughters, Arroka Dandridge (Billy) and LaDonna Davis (Dwayne); her granddaughters, Marisa Rock (Michael), Crystal Rock, and Peyton Davis; her grandson, Demetrius Davis; her great-grandsons, Aiden, Hunter, Noah, Isaiah, and Reagan; her brothers and sisters, Robert Horton, Sr., (Crystal), Marv Horton Sr. (Leslie), Alvernes Coleman, Sr. (Beth), Gregory Horton (Patsy), Timothy Horton, Sr., (Natasha), Mona Nelson (Toney), Frank Kenny (Edwina) and Chanda Kenny-Brown along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends, Grace Simms, Patrice Jackson, Arlean Shelton, and May Shelton, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Irish will be remembered for her caring spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she shared with her family and community. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of compassion and devotion will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to D.D. Watson, for his compassion, care, and support during this difficult time. "Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
