Early Tuesday morning, December 22, 2020, our dear mother, beloved grandmother, and adored great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Irene Timberlake Morris heard the call of Jesus and entered into eternal rest.  She was 88 years old.

Irene was born December 25, 1931, to the late Isaiah and Sarah Timberlake. Irene was proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Corrie K. Morris, Jr., and two sons, Clyde, Sr. and Gregory Morris, four brothers -- Cephas, Spencer, Robert, and Harold Timberlake -- and two sisters -- Lee Anna Morris and Gracie Price.

For a small statured woman, she was full energy, and even after heart problems, continued to be an active woman.  She had a sharing and giving spirit where she provided many resources to family, friends, and neighbors. She loved entertaining and cooking, often having enough food to feed an army. She was especially known for sweet potato pies. Irene worked as a domestic technician after graduating high school and worked seventeen years at Louisa/Mineral factories.

Irene joined County Line Baptist Church at an early age and was an active member until she joined Zion Travelers Baptist Church to be with her husband.  She participated in many organizations at Zion Travelers to include her participation in the play, "The Ten Virgins." Later, she would join Galilee Baptist Church Louisa, where she was a member of the Deaconess Board, Usher Board, Senior Choir, Missionary Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Sunday School and president of the Pastor's Aid Club.  She loved serving the Lord, and He was always a part of her conversation. It was important that all her family knew that she was right with the Lord, often saying, "When the Lord calls me, I'm ready!"

She leaves to honor her memory three children:  Martha Fouad, Henrico; Mary Ellis (Ron), Charleston, West Virginia; Ricky Morris, Sr., Louisa; daughter-in-law, Dale Morris-Bradshaw (Henry); seven grandchildren: Dr. Sarah Slaughter (Jerry), Mineral; Crystal Curry (Brian), Palmyra; LaToya Washington, Charlottesville; Jenni Azevedo (Jeremy), Charleston, West Virginia; Clyde Morris, Jr., Louisa; Jocelyn Ellis, Lynchburg; and Rickey Morris, Jr., Charlottesville.  To carry on legacy are four great-grandchildren: Da'Quanvion and De'Zyre Washington and Adira and Isabella Slaughter.  She was looking forward to the birth of Logan Curry.

She also leaves two sisters: Pauline Payne (Johnnie) and Mary Alice Payne, and three brothers: Alphonso Timberlake (Viola), Melvin Timberlake (Louise), and Wilbert Timberlake (Eleanor); two sisters-in-law:  Emma Washington and Josephine Timberlake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
