On Saturday, September 19, 2009 around 11:00 a.m. Jesus was in his beautiful flower garden picking flowers when he heard a soft faint voice saying: "Precious Lord take my hand lead me on, let me stand. I am tired, I am weak, I am lone. Through the storm, through the night lead me on to the light. Take my hand precious Lord, Lead me home."
Jesus knew that was Henry Louis Moore, Jr's' voice; who was lying in the bed of affliction at the hospice home at the McGuire Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Jesus knew that Louis had fallen in love with him and at an early age was baptized in the Holy Spirit and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and began his Christian walk at the Rising Sun Baptist Church, Mineral, Virginia. where he worshipped and attended regularly.
Louis was the first born son to Julia M. Moore and the late Deacon Henry L. Moore Sr of Mineral, Virginia. He graduated from A.G. Richardson High School in 1973 then enlisted in the U S Army to serve our country as a soldier.
In 1977 Louis wed in holy matrimony to the late Christine Hembry Moore, and relocated to Washington, DC, where he worked at the National Gallery of Art for fifteen years. Later, Louis returned home and held a position at Hairfield Lumber Company until his health failed. He was a soft spoken person with a loving heart, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a true soldier in Christ, through all of his pain and suffering he never complained.
Louis will be truly missed by his loved ones, his friends and all who knew him. He had a special bond with his oldest sister Barbara who preceded him in death January 6, 2009;his daddy also preceded him in death January 24, 2000. What a joy it was to have had Louis in our lives.
Louis leaves to cherish his moments, his mother, Julia Green Moore, Mineral, VA; three stepchildren, Katrina, Trevilians, VA, Jerry (Wanda), Clinton, Maryland and Vernon Jr. Louisa, VA and fourteen step grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Moody (Charles), Oxon Hill, MD, Teresa Courtney (Melvin), King George, VA and Sandra Sawyer (Leroy), Lanham, MD; two brothers Michael Moore, Waynesboro,Virginia and Alvin Moore (Janice) Louisa, VA; three aunts, Gertrude Moore, Mineral,VA, Annie Moore, Washington, DC, and Jackie Saunders Moore, Patterson, New Jersey, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,he cannot see the kingdom of God
John 3:3
