On Monday, June 10, 2019 our Heavenly Father called home another one of his humble servants, Mrs. Helen Virginia Hubert.
Helen was born January 3, 1934 to the late Dennis & Viola Jackson in Fluvanna County. She attended Fluvanna County Public Schools and graduated from S. C. Abrams High School in 1954. She became a member of Byrd Grove Baptist Church at early age.
Helen was well known for her love of fashion, elaborate hats & shopping.
On June 16, 1963 she was united in marriage to the late Winfred D. Hubert. They made their home in Washington D.C. for many years. While living in Washington, Helen became a watch care member of the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 816 8 th St. NW. Upon her husband's retirement, they returned to live in Kents Store, VA. When returning to Virginia, Helen became employed by Belk Inc. (formerly known as Leggett's) where she was recognized as one of the top salespersons for the corporation, earning the Pacesetters award for several years. She also returned to worshiping at Byrd Grove Baptist Church where she served on the Hospitality Committee and sang with the Senior and Adult choir.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory a step-daughter, Jacqueline Hubert, Sister; Thelma Jackson and Brother; Gilbert Jackson (Christine) of Kents Store, VA. Sister-in-laws; Gladys Lee (Robert) and Annette Smith, Powhatan, VA, Ruby Turner, Goochland, VA, Signora Hubert, Troy, VA, Louise Hubert, Louisa VA, and host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Evergreen Baptist Church, 452 Evergreen Church Rd, Palmyra, VA 22963 with Minister Margo Bruce officiating.
