Harry Frazier Richardson entered this life on January 11, 1923 to the late Vivian Scott Richardson (Truk) and Eleanor Burruss Richardson (Lena) and a host of siblings. He talked lovingly of his siblings and the special times he shared with them. He grew-up in a loving family and world that made him know he was loved and cherished. He was joy, laughter and love personified. At a young age he grew to know the Lord at Shady Grove Baptist Church and attended until the time of his death. His early Christian life garnered him a yearning and need to help his family and community, often telling stories of how he helped his parents buy their first car and homestead and the rebuilding of his parent's home after a tragic fire. It was in his nature to help where he could. What an adventurer and storyteller! His intellect was strong, his humor witty and smile unyielding. Daddy was a gifted builder, as Jesus; he too set out to help his community to employee and to provide skills to many. He thought it was vital to give young men skills, to give them a leg-up so they could raise their families and to provide skills they could use for a lifetime when back-in the day it was difficult for Black Men to secure jobs. While many have indebted their trades to Daddy's tutorage, he strived and secured a General Contractor's license at a time when it was unheard of. With the greatest of pride, he maintained it (until his death) and on occasion lent it to others aiding them in their ability to succeed. His knowledge of FHA and HUD housing allowed many black families to have home ownership. Truly a pioneer ahead of his time; he did it for the love of family and his community. Our Father's legacy is: to love the Lord with our whole hearts, support one another and encourage your fellow man. Families are to be praised; no, they're not perfect, but gifts to living a blessed life.
