Harry Lloyd Brooks , affectionately known to many as Pops, Unc, Uncle Lloyd, Mr. Brooks, or Papa, was a man of deep compassion, radiant generosity, and resilient spirit. Born on July 30, 1934, in Louisa, Virginia, Harry's life was a testament to a love deeply woven into the fabric of his family and community. His witty humor and storytelling prowess brought joy and laughter to all who were privileged to know him. A lover of bowling, videography, western films, church services, and wrestling, Harry also had a unique knack for hat collecting, embodying a debonair charm that was unmistakably his own.

Harry's work in custodial services in the manufacturing industry was marked by his commitment and dedication. However, his true passion lay in serving his community and his God. An active member of Thessalonia Baptist Church, Harry chaired the Deacon's Ministry and lent his voice to the choir, his service recognized with an award for outstanding dedication in 2015. His faith was a beacon, reflecting the verse from the Bible, "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master" (Matthew 25:23). Harry truly lived these words, his life a beautiful testament to his faith.

Harry leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, Barry Sr., Lynn (Keith) Lewis, Vernardo (Carolyn) Brooks, and Sunday White. Along with stepdaughters, Freda (Nelson) Jones, Donna (Robert) Banks. He was fondly called Papa by his grandchildren Barry Jr., Daurice Hackney, Ronnie Henderson Jr., Raven White, Kaneisha Brooks, and his great-granddaughter, Ja'Niyah Henderson. He's also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, friends and a devoted neighbor and friend, Robert Johnson. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wives Edith and Ida, his parents Harry and Emma Brooks, his siblings Ulysses and Nathaniel Brooks, Mary Daniels, Louise Robinson, Sadie Johnson, Alberta Johnson, and his stepsons Fred Jr. and Kevin Payne, and grandson, Daniel Lewis.

As we remember Harry , we invite you to share your memories and upload photos on the memorial page dedicated to his life. May his stories continue to inspire us, his laughter echo in our hearts, and his love remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
