Harriet Louisa Rawlings Lewis was born on May 15, 1930, in Orange, Virginia, to Luke and Harriet Quarles Rawlings. She departed this life on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Dogwood Village of Orange County at the age of 91.

Harriet, better known as" Miss. Ann," was reared in Orange County where she received her education. Harriet accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was baptized at Orange Grove Baptist Church by the Reverend F.F. Terrell and became a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
On October 6, 1951, she was married to Linwood Lewis for 67 years. To this union two sons were born Joseph Eugene and James Edward. They extended their family by accepting Margaret, Catherine, Shirley, Elizbeth, Rodney, Tina and Troy as their own.

Harriet's hands were never idol as she wore many hats. She was a seamstress, babysitter, and domestic worker for the Frazer and Burruss families. Harriet was a great cook and baker - as we think about those scrumptious pies and cakes - especially around this time of the year about those fruit cakes with her homemade dandelion wine.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood; eight brothers, Lukey, Russell, Anderson, Raymond, Leon, William, Theodore, Billy and three sisters, Lucy Rawlings Wormley, Mary Rawlings and Helen Rawlings Shirley; two children Margaret Rawlings and Troy Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons: Joseph, James (Linda) and Rodney (Vickie); Four daughters: Catherine, Shirley, Elizabeth (Greg), and Contina (Carson); Ten grandchildren: Joseph Jr., Jamison (La'Tia), Tony, Harry, Ross, Emily, Rodney Jr., Elijah, Sabrina and Alivia; Six great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Justin, Jazsmine, John, Jo'Matthew, Major and Jamison, Jr.; Two brothers: Howard Rawlings (Francine) & Norris Rawlings, Sr.;a brother-in-law, Joseph Lewis (Papa Joe), a great friend, Marion Fox, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
