Hallie Byrd Macklin closed her eyes Sunday June 8, 2014 at Hospice of Piedmont in Charlottesville, Va. She was born April 25, 1921 in Wake County Raleigh, North Carolina daughter of James and Meater Carrington.

She is proceeded in death by her mother and father; husband Joseph Robert Macklin; stepdaughter Dorthy Sutton; seven brothers: Linwood Carrington, Johnny Carrington, Theoda Carrington, Ezekiel Carrington, Alvester Carrington, Willie Nuel Carrington and James Carrington Jr.; two nephews, Arch Carrington and Cleveland Carrington; one niece, Barbara Jean Carrington; grandson, Shirley James Goodall; and great-grandson, Delont'e Smith. She leaves to cherishes her memories daughter Margaline S. Talley; two grandsons, David Jerome Grady and Kenneth Neil Smith; one granddaughter, Sabrina Smith; three sisters, Callie Robinson of Washington, D.C., Dallie Dixon of Temple Hill, Md. and Sallie MacFarlin of Laual Md.; along with five generations of grand and great-grand children and host of other relatives and friends.

Hallie was one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1969 when she was bapisted. She loved fishing and would do it 365 days a year if she could. She also enjoyed attending meetings and assemblies with Brother and Sister Smith and many others until her health declined. At that time the brothers brought the meeting to her via telephone.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses - 15405 Cross County Road, Mineral, Virginia 23117.
