The world changes from year to year; our lives from day to day – but our love and memories of you, Duck , will never pass away.

Gregory Milton Shelton was blessed with sixteen older siblings and added blessings two older nieces; Sandy and Linda and two older nephews; Lewis and Tony. Gregory "Duck" was born on June 19,1961 to the late Deacon Jordan and Sister Bertha Shelton in Louisa County, Virginia. Gregory transitioned to begin his eternal rest on May 26, 2024 at Louisa Health and Rehabilitation.

Gregory accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized and joined with the membership of the Rising Sun Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Louisa County and was loved by all who knew him.

Gregory was a sincere Dallas Cowboys fan and he was everybody's baby. His older siblings, especially his sisters, all took him under their wings and nurtured him as their own. Gregory loved his nieces and nephews as his own and had no favorites and never a complaint was heard. He was simply born with a nature of love.

"Duck" was preceded in death by his parents; Jordan and Bertha Shelton; his siblings; Alice May Shelton, Samuel Lewis, George Shelton, Isabell Mickens, Oscar Shelton, John Shelton, Wilson Shelton, and Brenda Shelton; and three nephews; Anthony "Tony" Mickens, John "Turtle" Shelton, and Timothy "Timmy" Shelton.

As Gregory lived quietly, he quietly slipped into eternal rest with no fanfare.  Left to continue this journey and to cherish Gregory's precious memories are his brothers:  Timothy (Emma), and Walter both of Mineral , Albert of Louisa, Ray of Richmond, and Larry of Chesterfield;  his sisters; Gerleen Sawyer of Louisa, Bertha Harris (Roy) and Jessie Hayden of Mineral; one brother-in-law:  Deacon Russell Hayden; sisters-in-law; Clydenia, Clarissa, and Fannie Shelton;  one uncle:  Harry Scott of New York; three aunts; Edna Scott of Chicago, Harriett Scott of New York, and Tina Scott of Puerto Rico; twenty-five nieces;  twenty-four nephews; one great, great, great niece; one great, great, great nephew; a host of great and great great nieces and nephews; devoted lifelong family friends; Karen Riddick and Ray West along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Rising Sun Baptist Church 6829 Fredericks Hall Road Mineral, Virginia 23117, with Rev. Walter Pleasants, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
