Grace Butler Taylor departed this life on August 7, 2017 at Henrico Doctors Hospital Forest Campus, Richmond. Virginia.
She was born April 25, 1935 to the late Albert and Elizabeth Butler. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by three brothers: Clarence, James, and Clayton Butler and her sister: Mary Butler.
She joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church at an early age under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend John Tyler. She served as a Sunday School teacher and was a caring and compassionate housewife who took care of many children through the years.
Grace leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband of fifty-seven years: Authur 'Joe' Taylor; three sons: Jerry (Danell) of Louisa, Bradley (Lisa) of Greensboro, NC, and Vernell (Jackie) of Caroline; four daughters: Joann, Brenda, and Tammy of Bumpass, and Vicky of Mineral; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Amanda Coles, Alretha Butler, and Gladys Taylor; one brother-in-law Autro Taylor: one devoted friend: Jean Wood; and a generous host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration services will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericks Hall Road, Mineral, VA with the Reverend Walter Pleasanst, officiating and Reverend Sharon Roberts, eulogist. Benediction and Committal will take place at the Taylor Family Cemetery, Bumpass, VA.
