Gloria Laura (Price) Waddy, 81 entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2023 at her home in Kents Store, VA.  She was born October 25, 1941 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Lloyd and Emily Price.  Gloria attended Louisa County Public Schools.  She was a dedicated stay at home mother and grandmother and also a domestic worker for many years.

She was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Kents Store, VA where she served faithfully until her illness.  Gloria was always available to assist in the many activities of the church including:  Women's Ministry, Prison Ministry, Cemetery Committee, Kitchen Committee and the Walter H. Jones Ensemble Choir.

On April 11, 1970 she married the love of her life, the late Thomas Lewis Waddy Jr..  Their love produced two daughters; Gwendolyn Jones and the late Shelia Ann Waddy.  Gloria was a sweet, kind and caring woman, devoted to her family.  She loved and supported them every day of her life.  She enjoyed cooking; especially baking coconut pies, preparing homemade cheeseballs & special snowball treats during the holidays.  She spent her time doing what she loved; visiting family and friends, attending church activities, taking care of home projects, walking or just relaxing on the deck, alongside her husband of 50 years.

Treasuring her love are her daughter, Gwendolyn Jones (James Carter); grandsons, Denzel Waddy and Collin Jones; great grandson, Kingston Waddy; sister, Hannah Price, all of Kents Store, VA; sister-in-law, Regina Richardson (Ray) of Forestville, MD; brother-in-law, James Waddy Sr. (Connie) of Penhook, VA; aunt, Annie Price of Louisa, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her loyal and loving caregiver, Teri Yount of Kents Store, VA and to Hospice of the Piedmont for their support during the final weeks of her life.
