Gladys J. Edmonds, 94, of Bremo Bluff, VA passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at Envoy at the Village in Fork Union, VA. She was born May 22, 1920 in Fork Union VA, the daughter of the late William and Rebecca D. Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Edmonds and brothers, Joe Jackson of Fork Union, Henry Jackson of Charlottesville VA, Frank Jackson of Fork Union; sister, Lillian Johnson; brothers-in-law Hubert Johnson, Vincent Thompson and Joe Franklin.

She was baptized at an early age at Thessalonia Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health declined. She attended Dunbar School and Alma Miller School of Cosmetology. She was self-employed as a Beautician for more than fifty years. She retired from Morton Frozen Foods after many years of employment.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted son, Ronald Edmonds of Fork Union, VA; grandsons, Anthony (Sharon) of Fork Union VA, Cory (Christa) of Orange, VA; nine great-grandchildren; devoted brother, Stanley Jackson of Fork Union, VA; sisters, Augustine Thompson and Louise Franklin ,both of Bronx, NY; a devoted friend, Constance Ross of Arvonia, VA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and committed friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Thessalonia Baptist Church, Fork Union, VA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Thessalonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family members will assemble at the church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
