George Thomas White Sr, 75 of Troy, Virginia departed this life on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
He was born April 2, 1937 in Louisa, Virginia, the son of the late Porter and Alice White.
He attended Louisa County schools and later went on to a long and successful career and life. He became the first certified mechanic for Herb Brown Motors for 30 years in Charlottesville. He was employed at Chips Inc. until his death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Anna Braxton White; a son, Rick Childs of Maryland; two daughters, Karen Palmyra and Tammy (Shannon) White of Tampa, FL; a son, George Jr (Juanita) of Palmyra; two sisters, Elissa Scott of Louisa and Veronica Taylor (Donald) of Charlottesville; one brother, Porter Jr of Charlottesville and five grandchildren, Chantelle Howerton of Tampa, Teidra White of Louisa, Daniesha Shelton, Jayvin White, and Ryan White of Fluvanna. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Foster Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the White Family Cemetery.
