When the time comes to bid this life farewell, we should find comfort in knowing that a loving God will be there with us to guide us to our new home.
George Edward Brooks was born on March 23, 1937, to the late Willie and Ruth Brooks. He departed this life at Albemarle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville, Virginia and entered his eternal heavenly home on Monday, July 28, 2025.
George was born and raised in Louisa, Virginia. At an early age he became a member of Eagle Baptist Church, and he attended Louisa County Schools. He was a laborer by trade.
Baby George as family and friends called him was a soft spoken, well-dressed man in his day. Not only was he funny, but he loved spending time with family and friends, and he adored his nieces and nephews. In his later years, he stayed closer to home but would often be seen cruising through town and enjoying his time with his baby sister Dorothy.
George leaves to cherish his memories, his sister, Dorothy Poindexter (Aubrey); his brother Linwood Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior and Frank Brooks, his sisters, Mildred Simms, Susie Davis (Arthur), and Evangelist Edith Byers (Clinton).
George will be missed dearly and will continue to live in the hearts of his family and those that were fortunate enough to know him.
We invite you to share your memories of George on the memorial page, as we remember and honor his life.
To the Brooks family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.
It is during such times as these that we draw upon our faith, stand upon our scriptures and rely upon our God. There is no question that in this and through this, God will keep you, comfort you and sustain you. You and your family are forever in our prayers.
