Frederika Renee Braxton. was called from earthly labor to eternal rest at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC on Monday, November 11, 2019.

Frederika, better known as Rika, was born on January 25, 1963, in Nebraska to Frederick & Mildred Braxton.

Rika was baptized at the Nazareth Baptist Church, Orange, VA, and she attended Shady Grove Baptist Church when she was in town.

Rika attended the public schools of Orange County and graduated in 1981 from TC Williams High School in Alexandria, VA.

Rika was known as a happy and a lovable person.  What stood out about Rika was her smile and that bear hug that everybody got from her.  She had a favorite football team, The Red Skins, which she dearly loved.  Rika loved her family and her friends.

Rika is survived by her mother, Mildred Braxton; her father, Frederick Braxton (Vivian) ; one son, Cory Braxton;  one daughter in-law, Dreama Braxton; 4 grandchildren; Tashayla Braxton, Cory Braxton  Jr., Chance Braxton and Tevon Swazer; 4 sisters, Karen Braxton, Alicia Braxton, Jennifer Braxton and Shirley Butler; 1 brother, Eric Braxton; 1 uncle, James Dade; 4 aunts, Mable Easton, Barbara Johnson, Dorothy Johnson and Linda Lewis; 2 nephews, Jordashe Braxton  and Donte Washington; 4 nieces; Alicia Braxton, Khaliyah Robertson, Taylor Parker and Tyler Jacques; other relatives, Dawn Devlin & Dionne Jackson; and a host of cousins and friends.
