Frank Shelton, Jr. departed this life on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Parham Healthcare.  He was born on April 30, 1936 in Louisa County, Virginia to the late Frank and Loraine Shelton.  He is also predeceased by his wife (Carolyn) and son, Melvin Shelton; sister: Edith; and his brothers Harvey and Curtis Shelton.

Frank attended Rising Sun Elementary School and graduated from A. G. Richardson High School.

After high school Frank worked at Gordonsville Lumber Yard for a number of years.  From there Frank worked in Washington, D.C. as a carpenter.  During his later years he spent time at Woodfolk Lumber Yard and the Louisa County School system.

He became the clerk and a Deacon at Rising Sun Baptist Church.  At the same time he became a Mason with Louisa Lodge 113.

While dedicating his time in church, Frank would pick up children within the community for Sunday School in his personal "Red Van" along with teaching Sunday School.

During this time, he was the manager of the gospel singers, The Shelton Five, and he played the guitar for the group.

To cherish loving and lasting memories of Frank are his loving and devoted children:  Melissa Jones, Dennis (Gail), Bruce, and Elaine;  two step daughters:  Sara and Aishia (Keith);  one sister:  Lucille Pryor; two brothers:  Clarence and Leroy Shelton;  and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
