Frank Edward Hill departed his earthly life on March 23, 2012 at the Martha
Jefferson Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

Frank was born in Louisa, Virginia on December 27, 1925. He was the son of the late Frank Carr Hill and Eloise Hunter Hill, who raised their son in Annapolis, Maryland and California until they returned to Louisa when Frank was a teenager.

Frank graduated from Louisa Training School and attended Virginia Union University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving as a chef.

Frank's love of automobiles led him to his lifetime profession as an auto mechanic, working in both Louisa and Charlottesville, Virginia. He retired in 1983.

Frank was joined in marriage with Gloria Crawford on December 16, 1951. They were blessed with one daughter, Brenda Louise Hill Fortune.

Frank joined the Bright Hope Baptist Church at an early age and always loved his church and church family.

Frank Ed, as he was called, loved to cook, fish, work on cars, listen to R&B music, watch the History channel and congregate with his friends.

Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria C. Hill; his daughter, Brenda Fortune (Mark); two grandsons, Charles Durrette, Jr., and Anthony Durrette; one great grandson, Jayden R. Robinson, all of Louisa, VA; one sister-in law, Brenda Shelton (Roger) of Kents Store, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Bright Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Alonza Minor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
