Francine Charlotte Grooms, age 76, of Louisa, VA gained her wings on Friday September 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank H. Keyes of Charlottesville, VA; her mother, Annie Mills Keyes of Charlottesville, VA; her brother, Frank H. Keyes Jr, of Charlottesville, VA and her brother-in-law, Lindsay DuPratt Johnson of Charlottesville, VA.

In 1964, Francine graduated from Jackson P. Burley High School. She worked at Centel Telephone Company and GE for several years and then retired from Sperry Marine after 28 years of service. In November 1968, Francine married her heart, Albert B. Grooms, Jr. Their union of 53 years nurtured four daughters, Katherine Grooms of Louisa, Kathleen Loveless (Percy) of Spotsylvania VA, Contina Djaouga (Aboubacar) of Glenn Dale, Maryland and Syreeta Grooms of Louisa VA.

Francine loved spending time with her family, cooking, singing and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed the beach and taking in the beauty of God's creation during family vacations. She found the most joy in spoiling and caring for her four granddaughters.

Holidays were her favorite as she cooked and baked endlessly to make sure everything was in place when family arrived. She emphasized that the family would only came to sit and eat and laugh together. As she spent time in the kitchen preparing her favorite meals, she always enjoyed singing and listening to her praise and worship songs.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her devoted husband, four daughters and four sisters: Annie Johnson, Teresa Walker (Fletcher), Katie Keyes and JoAnne Stephens; four granddaughters Leilani Djaouga, Lia Djaouga, Lauryn Djaouga and Laila Quarles; Brother-in-law: Willie B. Grooms (Veronica); Sister-in-law: Lena "Kandi" Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. in The Sun Chapel at D.D. Watson Mortician, 117 West Street, Louisa, VA.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Evergreen Bible Way Church 1576 Evergreen Road Louisa, Virginia 23093. Interment will follow in the family cemetery.
