"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens" Ecclesiates 3:1

Floyd Leon Jackson, 58, was born to the late Andrew Jackson, Sr. and Lorraine Jackson on November 1, 1957 in Fredericks Hall, Virginia.

On the morning of November 2, 2015 in the privacy of the home he shared with his wife, Floyd slipped from time and entered into eternity.

Floyd attended public schools in Louisa County and was employed as a member of the Maintenance Department of Louisa County Public Schools and Tradewinds Lumber Company before retirement. He enjoyed fishing and gathering loved ones and friends together to laugh, talk, fellowship, and eat fish fresh from the cooker.

Floyd was joined in wedded bliss to his friend and "wind beneath his wings", Miss Florine Hunter on November 6, 1976. God's blessings upon this union include four sons and sixteen grandchildren.

Floyd accepted Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized and joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend John L. Tyler. He was ordained to the Deacons' Ministry in December, 1996 under the pastorate of Reverend Sherman Thomas. Floyd was also a member of the Men's Chorus.

He leaves to cherish his love and memory his beloved and devoted wife, Florine Hunter Jackson; four devoted sons: Craig Butler, Christopher Jackson, Joseph Jackson (Sonya), and Jeff Hunter (Stephanie); his mother, Lorraine Jackson; sixteen grandchildren; four brothers: Andrew, Jr. (Felicia), Wyndell, Chester, Ronald (Geraldine); two sisters: Joyce Bowles (Harvey) and Earline Gross (Tony); two god-daughters: Linda Robinson and Sandra Comfort; one uncle: Carter Waller; close and devoted friends: Wayne Henson, Jr., Thomas Barnes, Steve Hunter, Morris Mickens, Alfred (Butch) Holt, and Milburn Coles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends; along with the entire Rising Sun Baptist Church family of which many lives were touched – the young as well as the old. He is also predeceased by a dear friend and comrade, Thomas Henson.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericks Hall Road, Mineral with Reverend Deborah Coles – Officiant and Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
