Ellen Delores Green Walker was born July 19, 1934, in Louisa Virginia to David Crocket Green and Gertrude Mosby Green, both who preceded her in death.
She was educated in the Louisa County Public Schools and graduated from The Louisa County Training School.
On September 22, 1956, she married the love of her life Frank Raymond Walker, Sr. and they were blessed with four children – Frank, Jr., Cheryl, James (deceased) and John. She devoted her life to maintaining their household and raising their children (who knew there was always a switch nearby). She always had plenty of good home cooking on the stove, enjoyed sewing, reading and taking pictures.
At a very early age, Ellen joined the Union Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer and a member of the choir for many years.
Ellen passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at The University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was surrounded by family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband Frank R. Walker Sr; Son, Frank Walker Jr. (Bernadette); Daughter, Cheryl Cameron (Philip); Son, John Walker; Grandsons, Justin Walker, LaSaun Lewis, Jarred Walker and Jermiah Walker; and sister-in-law, Ruby Green. Also left to cherish her memory are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son James Walker; sisters, Wilma Williams and Loretta Alderson; and brother Irving Green.
Viewing at the church from 11 a.m. until services starts at noon.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, January, 2017 at Wayland Baptist Church 1228 Oakland Road Louisa, Virginia 23093.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
