Eldridge "Pete" Nathaniel Thurston, 67, of Charlottesville, VA died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at University of Virginia Medical Center.

Born April 16, 1953 in Charlottesville, VA, he was the son of the late David A. Thurston, Sr. and Helen L. Harris Thurston. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. He worked in Construction, until he became disabled. "Pete" was a member of Mt Gilliam New Site Baptist Church, Mineral VA.

"Pete" is survived by his wife Jennie Thurston of Charlottesville, VA; one daughter, Stephanie Rice of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Nicholas Rice, Natalie (Casey) Wagner, and Nichole Rice; three great-grandchildren; Ayla Wagner, Dylan Wagner and Davina Stepps of North Carolina; four sisters, Pastor Joann Brice of Kents Store, VA, Minister Alice Christmas (Pastor Robert) of Louisa, VA, Geraldine Ragland (Esmo) of Brooklyn, NY, and Karen Thurston of Charlottesville, VA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, 1 p.m., at The Sun Chapel, D. D. Watson, Louisa., followed by interment at Mt Gilliam New Site Baptist Church, Mineral VA. Due to COVID-19 seating is limited to 50.
